3MIX Project - Ankangyuan Urban Mixed Use Redevelopmet in Sina News Today

The trans-relocation of Shanghai's largest group building with the longest cumulative trans-relocation distance was officially launched in Jing'an District yesterday. The Ankangyuan project, located in Anqing Road, Jing'an District, consists of five three storey old houses built in 1930s. These 90 year old houses will be lifted up as a whole. After being lifted up, the hydraulic flat car will enter the lower part of the house and slowly transport the house away.
Preliminary estimates show that the five buildings will cross AnQing road respectively, and the cumulative distance of trans-relocation will be more than 2 km. After the old house is removed, the original site will create four levels of underground space to meet the parking and transportation functions for new development. In the near future, the site also plans to build a 320 meter high-rise building within the huge urban mixed use redevelopment effort.
