Kingfine Center explores new dimensions of Retail and Entertainment in China’s metropolitan areas. Located adjacent to Nanjing’s Railway Station, the site is at a strategic confluence of commuter and rapid transit as well as freeways, affording tremendous visibility and accessibility. The design experimented with an aggressive and novel notion of creating a dynamic and visually stimulating roof structure, a veritable “cloud”, undulating, organic and striking in its sculptural form and color to adorn a 24m high podium structure. The cloud trellis canopy serves as a repository of outdoor entertainment, and an iconic signature for the project. A Vertical Theme Park tower incorporating various leisure and extreme sports venues contrasts with the sprawling horizontality of the roof to create a “must-see” destination.
