“VELO-CITY”

The project contains Retail and Entertainment facilities capped by three Serviced Apartment Towers on a long and narrow site hemmed in between an elevated highway and an old residential community. The six-level retail center incorporates fashion brands, food and entertainment zones, including an “extreme” sports center and a 10 screen Cineplex, responding to its university and academic patronage and creating a welcoming and warm respite to Changchun’s frigid winters. The architectural language of the key facades and the design of the towers allude to the metaphorical sense of speed, movement and velocity and the north facing lifestyle streets are designed as a cascading galleria to alleviate shadow encroachment to the existing towers.
