WATER FESTIVAL

Located in the core area of new development district of Zhangjiagang, the project is considered the future landmark shopping center of the new district. The design takes considerations of the project unique site heritage of neighboring to a natural river and green corridor, aims to develop an integrated design strategy that nurtures the social wellbeing which comes with the embracement of ecological awareness while understanding and responding to the cultural, environmental, and economical aspects. Inspired by the vernacular characteristics of the local water town, the design is to create atmospheres of "the stage of sea dreams" for the main atrium, “the childhood adventure" for the west atrium, " the light of art " for the east atrium, and several themed spaces including “waterfront garden” urban living room, "river bank " dining courtyard, etc., in various attempts to create a unique shopping center with fashionable, ecological and natural characteristics for the residence of this waterside city.
