Sovereign Towers

TWIN TOWER

Sovereign Towers is a twin tower HQ development for two of United Arab Emirates sovereign funds (EIA and KBZF) on a parcel next to the iconic Al Bahr Towers in the new CBD of Abu Dhabi. The concept explores two triangular towers with soft edges and a serrated glass and metal façade sharing a two-level podium incorporating corporate amenities like conferencing facilities, cafeteria, an auditorium and a fitness center. The 100m tall towers present a subtle yet striking silhouette within its context of sand dunes and arid desert. The amenity structure is ensconced within an engineered and sculpted form roughly resembling an orb and extensive xeriscapes surroundings present an understated and low-key ambiance in keeping with the spirit of charitable benevolence of these funds. The project was shelved indefinitely in 2015 for political reasons.
