DRAGON RIVER NEW TOWN

Planned by the district of Yuanshi, near Shijiazhuang, this 400-hectare new town south of the Dragon River is envisioned as a highly sustainable and re-generative development accommodating a population of 40,000. The master-planning precepts include walkable blocks, a transit system and central green-belts. Mid-rise residential towers define the predominant component of the phased development and a Commercial and Cultural hub forms the centerpiece of the new town adjacent of a large riverfront park and a 150m theme tower. A central green spine connects the old town to the south to the People Square and Cultural hub.
